I absolutely loved reading this novel. As an avid fan of fantasy books, this one kept me engaged, captivated, and rooting for Javai every step of the way.Style: While this is not necessarily a young adult novel, it does not have the complexities found in George R. R. Martin, Tolkien, or Robert Jordan novels. However, it is far superior to the childish Twilight-like writing popular today. I found it to be an easy to read, but engrossing book filled with fully developed characters and well-defined roles.
Plot: At no point was I bored with this story. From the initial meeting between Javai and the Shaman, through all of her adventures, I found each page worthwhile. I found the twists to be fresh, and not nearly as predictable as the simple writing would have me believe. The author definitely delivered a tale worth picking up and I found myself unable to put it down.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Absolutely! I cannot wait to read more by B. Muze if this book is an indication of what I should expect.

The Shaman Apprentice Jovai Book 1 eBook B Muze Reviews
This book is the epitome of a spiritually magical fantasy book. You just want keep reading and not stop until the end, but once read you'll definitely want more. The characters are each impeccably unique in their own ways. I could feel I related to some of them in different ways. You won't regret picking this one up! )
This is a very fun quick read which takes you on an introductory journey to this world of Shaman and villages. There is no high technology or things of that nature. You get brought into a unique world of wonder and spirits and magic. Mixed with small village life, ancestry, history and close knit ties. It's an early look at a civilization that still exists with lore and magic and not much science and what science there is bleeds into the magic. All this is experienced through the eye of the Shaman's Apprentice, and the Shaman himself and their first few years together as he trains her to be the next in line to take over.
This book started out great...
And continued to stay great! Every now and then I pick up a young adult book that doesn't feel like a young adult book (typical teen romance/drama/etc.) and this was one of them! I was immediately immersed in the folklore of Jovai's tribe and the life she led, starting as a young, nameless child and growing into the powerful shaman that she did. Each chapter felt like a new story, but also remained connected to the plot as a whole. I absolutely loved it and can't wait for the next installment!!
Such a fascinating and fun read. I look forward to reading more from this author!
This is a nice quick read. I like the simplicity of it and the tone. You are brought into a worse of magic and spells and are able to take a journey that leaves technology and the modern world behind. Its a fun read that will take you on an adventure.
A Fantasy journey which will take you on an enchanting path into other dimensions,if you are looking for something very creative with a plot twist that is entertaining this would be a great read for you.
I really enjoyed the way how the book takes you away from your daily worries & stress to put you in a fairy tale magical adventure beyond worlds. The book was well written & thought about ,this is a very magical book that i would recommend to anybody into fantasy or need some fantasy in their periscope of their daily hustle of life.
A fantasy world that is vivid and tactile. Muze's description makes you feel like you're walking right next too Yaku and Jovai as their adventure takes them across a rich landscape. Clearly the author has put a good deal of time and energy into the details of the world featuring dozens of different peoples and languages. The story is epic and a fun read, and with an ending that is worth the build up.
